Fleeing from the political and religious persecution, some French Calvinists arrive in Rio de Janeiro. Although not welcomed in their own country, the French Crown supported their exploration and possible colonization of the Brazilian lands. But some other european explorers already had eyes on the land: the Portuguese

After spending some years in building their fortress, the French start getting ready to explore, only to find that the Portuguese won't let them get easily away with this. For their luck, some indigenous tribes, specially the Tamoios, were already rebelling against the Portuguese.

Collect wood, build towers to defend your fortress, ally with your enemy’s enemy and fight for your land
